AI Actors let you generate talking-head videos using an AI actor. Each scene can include multiple angles and looks to keep your video visually engaging, without needing to record yourself.

This article is for the mobile iOS Captions app. If you require help with the web app feature, please follow this article.

Limitation

This feature is only available for accounts with AI credit subscriptions. Your credit balance is always visible in the top-right corner of the app.

Credits are shared across your VEED account and can come from:

  • VEED iOS Captions app

  • VEED web (same account)

On mobile, credits come from:

  1. Your subscription, which includes monthly credits

  2. Top-ups, which are one-off credit purchases(only available in the iOS Captions app)

Important notes

  • If you have no credits, you’ll be prompted to purchase credits when trying to generate.

  • If you’re not logged in, you’ll be asked to log in before using AI Actors.

How to create an AI Actor video

  1. Tap the purple + button on the home screen.

  2. Select Generate with AI.

  3. Choose an Actor, then tap Create Video.

  4. Choose how you want to start:

    • Type a prompt – We generate a script for you.

    • Paste your own script – Your text is kept intact.

    • Write your own script – Your text is kept intact.

  5. Tap Create Script to continue.

What happens when you create a script

When you tap Create Script, VEED will:

  • Prepare your script

  • Generate multiple angles and look for the AI actor

  • Generate the speech/audio, so you can listen to it on the next screen

Reviewing and editing your script

On the next screen, you’ll see your script and can listen to the generated audio.

  • If you edit the script, the speech is regenerated automatically

  • You can also manually trigger a regeneration if needed

How scripts are split into scenes

  • If you paste or write your own script, the wording is kept the same and split into scenes

  • If you start with a prompt, VEED first generates a script and then splits it into scenes

Creating the video

When you tap Create Video:

  • You’ll see how many credits will be deducted before confirming

  • Video generation may take some time

  • A waiting screen will appear while the video is generating

You can leave the screen at any time. Once ready, the video will appear on your dashboard automatically.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

  • Q: I am prompted to pay more

    • You’re out of credits. Subscribe, purchase a top-up, or check your credit balance on the web app. Make sure you’re in the correct workspace.

  • Q: The audio preview doesn’t match my edited script

    • Editing triggers speech regeneration automatically. If it still sounds outdated, try manually regenerating or re-entering the screen.

  • Q: I don’t see any video in the scenes view

    • In the scenes view, only audio is generated first. The video is generated after you confirm and create the final video.

  • Q: My credit balance shows 0, but I still have credits

    • This can happen if you switch between multiple VEED logins. Log out from the account page and log back in to refresh your balance.

  • Q: My project is stuck at “Generating…” above 90%

    • Some scenes may still be processing. Generation can take several minutes and will time out after a while. If a generation fails, credits are refunded automatically.
